Young Africans "Yanga" Go through to CAF Confederation Cup Group stage


It was an exciting day for Young Africans as they have qualified to enter into CAF Confederations Cup group stages.

Yanga joins into the last eight teams of the competition together with Etoile Sahel, Medeama SC, Al Ahly Tripoli, Kawkab de Marrakech and FUS Rabat.

The last eight teams will now be drawn into two groups of four with the top two from each group going into the semifinals.

Young Africans progressed to the next stage of the cup tournament by 2-1 on aggregate after winning the first leg in Tanzania by 2-0 two weeks ago.

Yanga was playing  against Angolan side GD Sagrada Esperanca as they were beaten by 1-0 but qualified to enter into the group stage on aggregate after winning the first leg by 2-0.

Young Africans did finish the game with ten men after Nadir Ali was sent off in the 80th minute.
