Sauti Sol nominated for BET Awards 2015


Kenya's top boy band Sauti Sol is the only act from East Africa nominated for the 2015 Black Entertainment (BET) Awards in the Best International Act: Africa category which was won by Davido (Nigeria) in 2014.

The group, currently riding high on music charts with their hit song "Nerea", have also recently been nominated for the Best East African category in the prestigious Kilimanjaro Awards which will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania next month.

Sauti Sol will be battling against;
  1. AKA (South Africa), 
  2. Stonebwoy (Ghana), 
  3. Sarkodie (Ghana), 
  4. Fally Ipupa (DR Congo), 
  5. Wizkid (Nigeria), 
  6. The Soil (South Africa) and 
  7. Yemi Alade (Nigeria)
The awards will be held at the Nokia Theatre on June 28 in Los Angles,  just ten days after the Kilimanjaro Awards.

Sauti Sol will kick off their US tour on Thursday May 21, in Minnesota, Washington D.C, Dallas, Atlanta and then Seattle with the tour culminating with the BET Awards event.

The band will be in the same arena with the likes of top notch artistes of the likes of Beyonce, Usher Raymond and John Legend among others and will be hosted by renowned comedian and actor Kevin Hart who has also been nominated in the category of Best Actor.

Performances will be from rappers Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube among others.
