Facebook reaches 1billion users in one day

One billion people signed into Facebook on Monday. That’s a record. So pat yourself on the back or something, because you helped.

Mark Zuckerberg took to his own social media site to spread the good news about his personal milestone.

He said: ‘I’m so proud of our community for the progress we’ve made.

‘Our community stands for giving every person a voice, for promoting understanding and for including everyone in the opportunities of our modern world.’

In the second quarter of 2015, Facebook averaged 968 million daily active users.
