#WorldCup2014: Nigeria Qualifies to the Round of 16
Nigeria "Super Eagles" becomes the first African team to qualify to the round of 16 at the 2014 World Cup. Although they were beaten 3 - 2 by Argentina.
The match took place in Porto Alegre at the Beira-Rio stadium
Nigeria have never reached to the round of 16 since 1998, they will be facing France on next week on Monday.
After qualifying this is what Nigeria's coach Stephen Keshi has to say...
"It’s an honour and we’re very happy to reach the next round. I think we lost the game because we showed them too much respect in the first half. After the break we managed to play our game, attacked more, had more possession and were better overall. But Argentina are a great team and Messi’s a great player. He’s blessed and there’s no way you can escape him. Messi’s from Jupiter."
