Kikwete nominates Migiro to be a Member Parliamnent


President Jakaya Kikwete has nominated the former UN deputy secretary general, Dr Asha-Rose Migiro, a Member Of Parliament. According to a statement released to the media by the acting chief secretary, Dr Florens Turuka, her nomination took place on Monday.

“His Excellency Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete has appointed Dr Asha-Rose Migiro to be a Member of Parliament,”  As said on the statement.

Dr Migiro, who is also the current Chama cha Mapinduzi secretary for Politics and Foreign Relations, has served before in various government posts under the Kikwete administration.
From 2000 to 2006, she was the minister of Community Development, Gender and Children.
